I was reading an article by Brother Copeland only yesterday where he talks about in length for the need for the right corresponding action for faith to work. And I fully agree with him in all that he said. One only has to look at many of those devout Christians who take their faiths to absurd lengths. We can only say they are being downright foolish. There is no need to blame the devil for these people experiencing one mishap after another. At most times these people have themselves to blame for not combining their faith with the right corresponding action.
They should be counselled to read and meditate on James 2:17 where it says “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” They are ill informed and confused about how biblical principles work. They seem to be running around trying to make things work for them. They do not realize that the Bible is a book of instructions for daily living and not a book of magic. Just saying the Word out loud will not result in “Voila, the job is done.” I agree there are times when God does things supernaturally when the Anointing on the person is strong. We only have to see the miracle healings taking place in big meetings of long prayer and fellowship. Ha! Ha! Some of these people even expect money to come from anywhere when they are believing for a financial breakthrough. They should be strongly reminded that faith is an ongoing expression of God’s Word. It has its own laws that produce results only when they are obeyed truly.
As I said before, some of these people take their faiths to absurd lengths with disastrous consequences. For instance, let’s assume these people are standing by faith on Philippians 4:19 which says “My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory through His mighty Son Jesus.” Now what if these same people go out and write “faith checks” of 500$ each to 10 different people when they knew for certain that they did not have funds in their bank account? Writing checks like that with expecting God to provide that much money by a miracle into their bank accounts is carrying the thing to being foolish and stupid. They could land themselves in jail. A better way would be to confess God’s Word for providing the funds before they wrote those dud checks.
The same rule applies for getting a good job. Believing God for a decent job without trying to look for one is being again stupid. Standing firm on God’s promise to help should provoke these people to keep on searching for that dream job. Again, trying to get healed of cancer without taking the doctor’s medication is again carrying the thing a little too far. The right corresponding action would be to seeing the doctor and taking the treatment. Confessing God’s Word on healing over and over again will cause the medications to work well.
The secret lies in exercising our faith first in small things like in a plain headache. As our faith progresses, God will slowly put it into our hearts the corresponding action to be taken. For His guiding corresponding action will never put us in a situation that will make us look foolish.
