Ladies and Gentlemen…did you catch the breaking news story this morning? It is a news story that has moved me as a believer to jump in joy. I’m sure those that do not know Him will soon hurry up to be touched and saved by His grace. YES, JESUS IS COMING BACK! This is the front page caption in your newspaper that I want to engrave deep in your hearts.
To those that do not know enough about Him and I can say this for many Christians as well, this news is bound to make them react with unbelief and even anger. Just last week we celebrated Christmas and His birth. It was a national holiday in most countries. Everyone knows that there was a man named Jesus who was born on Christmas day. He lived to do great miracles and was finally killed in such a terrible way. But not many know about the return of Our Lord. They have never heard about the return of Jesus on the same Earth. Folks, that moment has come, and it will come to pass any time now! Jesus is coming back.
There is scriptural evidence in the Bible to what I said above. All through the Bible, we can see many references about His return. Take a look at Mathew 24:3-14 where Jesus himself talks about His return…
“…Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows… and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”
All that Jesus has said in the passage above is happening in the world today. There is war, there is deception, and there are earthquakes, hurricanes, food shortage, new diseases like swine flu and hatred of one community by the other.
Again, I was reading about the ominous threat from Iran. Iran as we know is fast becoming a nuclear state. They have now a President, Mahmood Ahmadinijad who has carried out a secret nuclear program by enriching uranium. He was fooling the world that Iran’s nuclear tests were only for peaceful purposes. HE HAS SECRETLY VOWED TO DESTROY ISRAEL. In a statement to the Associated Press, he was quoted as saying “Israel is permanent threat to the entire region” and that “the Zionist regime in Israel is a rotten dry tree that will be eliminated by one storm”
Friends, what is now coming from Iran and its frightening threats heaped at Israel is part of an end-time prophecy that is slowly beginning to unfold on world stage. This is the time that in the book of the prophet Ezekiel, God is predicting what will happen in the “final years.” What will happen is Russia will side with Iran and many middle-east countries to launch an all out war against Israel (Ezekiel 38: 1-23) But God will intervene and after all the years of mess that follows with the coming of the Antichrist and the battle of Armageddon, Jesus Christ will literally come down from Heaven where everyone can see him! He will throw the Antichrist into the lake of fire. And He will rule the Earth from the city of Jerusalem for another 1000 years.
So as we can see, are we not nearing the end time when Jesus will come back? We are seeing everything with concrete evidence. Why is that small country named Israel, the most talked about controversial place in all the Earth today? Because this is where the final days of Satan will be worked out. So is it not good news in today’s papers? For those like me who have made Him the Lord of our lives, this is a time to celebrate. For nothing that happens in the world in the form of turmoil that will come should affect us. We are God’s people. We will be raptured into Heaven and return to Earth along with Him.
For those of us who have not made Jesus as the lord of our lives, now is the time to do it. For those who knew Jesus and have gone astray, now is the time to return to Him. We can do this by obeying His Word by walking in love with everyone we meet. We wait with thanks to the morning news: Jesus is Coming back!
