I remember talking here about being free of demonic spirits a few months ago. A friend of mine was telling me about his daughter’s ‘hearing voices.’ I thought I will talk today more about these spiritual forces, about how to recognize if this spirit is one that has come to help you; or more still if it is demonic in the garb of an angel.
You can see the word ‘spirit guide’ being bandied about freely everywhere, especially on the internet. Very talented and even dedicated women are counselling people with the help of ‘spirit guides.’ These people who are occultists make contact with these ‘pleasant spirits.’ by going into a trance. I must warn friends that in ninety percent of these cases, these are demonic spirits posing as friendly angels. If the person hearing these voices is a born again practising Christian, then he is heading for sure confusion. Such people need to be enlightened more about these spiritual things: the person has had a visitation from Jesus himself, an angel or a demon.
Two scriptures in the Bible can help us in dealing with these spirits…take a look again at 2 Corinthians 11:14… ““For Satan himself transforms himself into an ANGEL OF LIGHT. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” Here Paul is showing us how Satan makes one of his demons pose as angels. Satan will control and even direct these demons in deceiving people. So it is very crucial that we know the kind of spirit we are dealing with when we are hearing voices. For this take a look at 1 John 4:1-4… “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, BUT TEST THE SPIRITS, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”
Here is what we can do to settle the issue…
… Ask the spirit forcefully as to who his lord or master is. If this spirit cannot say that Jesus is his lord and master, then he is not a friendly spirit or an angel sent by God.
… Command the spirit to say that Jesus came on the Earth in flesh. This is because Jesus had already defeated Satan and his angels by dying on the cross. Jesus was whole God and whole Man on Earth. The demons did not know this, so they cannot say that Jesus came on earth as flesh.
Once we know that the hearing voice is demon, we can command the demon to stop oppressing us and leave. Every time we recognize this voice we can command it to leave in the name of Jesus. If this does not work, we can always use the easiest of weapons – the blood of Jesus. When we plead the blood of Jesus forcefully against the demon, then it has to leave. Demons just cannot bear to see the blood.
Again it may so happen that these demons do not leave inspite of the blood. In that case it can only mean some sinful activity by us that is allowing the demons to continue to operate. We need to check for activities like pornography. Once these sins are repented and stopped, then applying the blood can be easier and worthwhile. If it is a friendly spirit, when we hear it praising and acknowledging that Jesus came in the flesh, we will welcome this useful guide. Be pleased that the spirit is here to counsel and help us about our future. Angelic spirits are friendly and sent by God for us to live better lives.
