The Sinner’s Prayer

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus:
I have been away the last few weeks, completely caught up with one thing or another. I was working furiously on another site of mine that is coming very well. So much that I missed out on updating my favourite Bible blog till now. Many of you I’m sure must have gone through some of the earlier posts here to refresh yourselves on the promises given to us by God, our Father. I did spend a lot of time on prayer though, and I did my bit by administering the Sinner’s prayer to many of my local friends. There were a few who wanted to know Jesus sincerely and I was happy to help.

As we know, prayer is asking God to do something about the promises He has already given us all through the Bible. Remember He has given us the authority to us to use words in this prayer. In fact, He acts only when we exercise this authority. It is the single most powerful weapon that we as believers have to get what we want. There are many prayers that we can pray, but the most important we must know is the Sinner’s prayer. It is the prayer that we use to bring someone to receive salvation by accepting Jesus as his Lord and saviour. Salvation will save the sinner from going to eternal Hell. That is why it is called as the Sinner’s prayer. The Bible tells us that we are spiritually dead because of the sins we have committed or for the sins of all our forefathers starting with Adam. We are saved from sin by praying the Sinner’s prayer by confessing our wrongs and asking God to wash us with the blood of Jesus that was shed for us.

This is the prayer that all great men of God like Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Haggin, Kenneth Copeland and others have used during the altar calls after their famous public meetings. One only has to turn on Christian television channels like TBN, Daystar, God TV and Miracle Net. Every preacher that comes here on their daily broadcasts invites the viewers to come to Jesus by saying the Sinner’s prayer along with them. They are only obeying God’s Word to bring millions of people to Him.

But have you noticed that each preacher uses different words to say the Sinner’s prayer? It might sometimes confuse many of you. Maybe some of you want to get your loved ones saved by asking them to say the Sinner’s prayer. All of us should know what goes on the Spirit world when we say the most important prayer we can ever have. You could type the Sinner’s paper on wall paper and paste it there. In case you have to help someone say the prayer, it can come in handy. Here it is… say it loud each time you say the Sinner’s prayer…

“Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the one true God
That you became Man
And broke your body, died and shed all of your precious blood for my sins

Dear Jesus, I confess that I was a sinner once
But I believe now that I am a sinner no more
Make me the kind of person you want me to be

Do great miracles in my life Lord
I believe that from this day forward you are my Lord and saviour

I am born again! Halleluiah! Thank you Father, Thank you Jesus”
In case you did not know this yet, the moment you say the Sinner’s prayer all Heaven will rejoice at your homecoming. Every spirit and angel that resides in Heaven will shower petals of rose on you for being saved from eternal Hell. But remember you cannot be saved by the sinner’s prayer unless God moves you to do it through His wonderful grace and mercy. Salvation cannot be earned, it is a gift from our Heavenly Father for anyone who approaches Him with a contrite heart. He sends the Holy Spirit to do His work. Take a look at this verse…

“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:44)

Maybe you are someone reading today’s post and still not saved. If you are feeling all stirred up, remember that it is the Holy Spirit that is doing it. This is the day that the Lord has made!

Get on your knees brother, and say the Sinner’s prayer loud in all earnest. The joy of the Lord has decided to visit you. Remember… for whom the Son setsfree is free indeed.
