The Sinner’s Prayer

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus: I have been away the last few weeks, completely caught up with one thing or another. I was working furiously on another site of mine that is coming very well. So much that I missed out on updating my favourite Bible blog till now. Many of you I’m sure must have gone through some of the earlier posts here to refresh yourselves on the promises given to us by God, our Father. I did spend a lot of time on prayer though, and I did my bit by administering the Sinner’s prayer to many of my local friends. There were a few who wanted to know Jesus sincerely and I was happy to help.   As we know, prayer is asking God to do something about the promises He has already given us all through the Bible. Remember He has given us the authority to us to use words in this prayer. In fact, He acts only when we exercise this authority. It is the single most powerful weapon that we as believers have to get what we want. There are many prayers that we can pray, but the most important we must know is the Sinner’s prayer. It is the prayer that we use to bring someone to receive salvation by accepting Jesus as his Lord and saviour. Salvation will save the sinner from going to eternal Hell. That is why it is called as the Sinner’s prayer. The Bible tells us that we are spiritually dead because of the sins we have committed or for the sins of all our forefathers starting with Adam. We are saved from sin by praying the Sinner’s prayer by confessing our wrongs and asking God to wash us with the blood of Jesus that was shed for us.   This is the prayer that all great men of God like Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Haggin, Kenneth Copeland and others have used during the altar calls after their famous public meetings. One only has to turn on Christian television channels like TBN, Daystar, God TV and Miracle Net. Every preacher that comes here on their daily broadcasts invites the viewers to come to Jesus by saying the Sinner’s prayer along with them. They are only obeying God’s Word to bring millions of people to Him.   But have you noticed that each … [Read more...]

Power of Prayer-2

Prayer is not an old woman’s idle amusement. Properly understood and applied, it is the most potent instrument of action, as per Mahatma Gandhi, father of the Indian nation. He used to do prayer daily said prayer is my soul and my life. He also used to say, as long as I live in this world, prayer and God’s (especially Lord Rama) name are on the tips of my lips. He never began any work or movement without doing prayer. Gandhiji got such a confidence in the Almighty, GOD.  Prayer is a great thing, a power, a weapon and a way of life. An honest person’s prayer is very powerful. Prayer moves mountains and it can transform the adverse circumstances and make them amicable to you. Prayer heals and stops the wars. Prayer made with confession protects you. Prayer without tears is like a well without water. Such type of prayers cannot yield much benevolence from God.  John Mon Field said “God wishes to get His hands warm by keeping them at the heart of a sincere prayer”.  A sinner’s prayer never reached God’s heart as your sins and bad deeds block the way. Prayer to God with full of love has no boundaries.  Sincere prayer requires the following qualities to be present in a person:  Pure Soul, sincere faith, mind without deceit, unselfishness, impartial thinking etc; Always pray for other’s welfare and for the country.  Nowadays most of the people are leading mechanical life, not sincerely believing in God. They are giving first preference to money rather than God. 95% of the people are of the strong opinion that they can achieve any thing with the help of money. But it is not entirely correct. Money has got its importance in our day to day life. But the desire for money is the root cause for all troubles. It does not give mental peace.  Praying to God and going to holy places like- temples, churches and mosques, keeps the mind in serene calm. Health point of also it is good and keeps the blood pressure well under control and there by no anxiety and tension and no heart attacks occur.  Morning Prayer is the opening key for our daily … [Read more...]
