Verses (St.Matthew’s gospel 5 : 1-11): Multitudes of people from Galilee, Jerusalem, Judaee and from places beyond Jordan etc, came to see Jesus and to listen to His preaching . One day He made His famous speech on the mountain, as follows: 1. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.2. Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.3. Blessed are the meek (gentle) - for they shall inherit the earth4. Blessed are they who thirst for righteousness and hunger, for they shall be filled. 5. The merciful people obtain their mercy. 6. The people who are pure in heart, they shall see in God. 7. The peace makers on this earth are called as children of God. 8. The people who are persecuted for righteousness sake – they enter the kingdom of heaven. 9. When men revile you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake, you will be blessed. Jesus also said that rejoice yourself, your reward in heaven is so great. You are the salt of the earth that means as devotees of God – you are blessed and saved. God saves us (believers)
God says; do not fear (worry), as “I am with you always”. Our loving God is so great and His love towards us knows no bounds. Fear is a disease, haunting the man always. When anyone surrounded by fear or tensions, the person, naturally goes into despair and depression. The devil prefers to apply the “weapon of despair” more frequently against human beings and tempt them to commit suicide. But, there is one great person who fights with the devil (satin) on our behalf and brings victory to us. That great person is Lord Jesus Christ, the savior and redeemer of the fallen men and women. “------The Lord is faithful to all his promises And loving toward all he has made”. The Lord upholds all those who fall And lifts up all who are bowed down” (Psalm 145:13, 14). Thus Lord Jesus Christ loves us and we can safely depend on Him and be remaining loyal to him. In the Holy Bible, the word “don’t fear” appears 366 times, that means God assuring us throughout the year, daily once as “don’t fear”. David lived with fear for 15 years, surrounded by enemies on one side, waiting for opportunity to kill him and the other side living alone in the forest among the cruel animals. He faced darkness, feeling of hunger, fear, and experienced the trouble living away from the relatives. But God Jesus never left the hand of David and saved him, under extraordinary circumstances, other it was very difficult for David by himself.
