The word “grace” has different meanings or senses. The main meaning is “depending on the kindness of another person’’. But it goes against our grain, for we like to take matters into our own hands when it is a question of our own wellbeing. We are quick enough to offer reward to any one who comes forward to help or render his services to us. The famous verse in the Holy Bible is: “The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men”. Regarding God’s grace, the meaning of it is beyond our intelligence and understanding. We can not attempt to recompense Him for His grace. We shall always be His debtors. His benefits abound for us daily. He is always the Giver, who “giveth to all life, and breath and all things (Acts 17:25)”. No one is in a position to give Him the honor due to Him for these things. But we have to ask ourselves the following questions: 1. Whether we have done His will? 2. Haven’t we rather lived apart from Him, day in, day out, often transgressing His commandments? The guilt committed by us can’t be cancelled through any achievements of our own, nor by our sacrifices or by our good deeds, but only through His grace. That grace has appeared in Jesus Christ, The Son of God, who came to earth as a Man to bear God’s judgment on behalf of sinners. It brings salvation for all. So avail yourself of God’s offer of grace in Jesus Christ! Come to the Savior without second thoughts and today itself. … [Read more...]
Bible verse on sin
‘’There is no difference; for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.’’ ‘’But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.’’ Romans 3: 22, 23; 5:8. Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, whose story is told in Genesis chapters 3 and 4, are our ancestors, and we can’t deny it. Our nature has been determined by our descent. We all bear the imprint of original sin with the result that we commit sins and become guilty before God. The sentence passed by God applies to all: His judgment follows after death. But there is a remedy, but only through Jesus, who was crucified, paid the debt that we owe God. It does not mean that we can go on doing sins and Lord Jesus saves us always. God saves us only to some extent .If we commit sin (or sins in minimum number) and confess sincerely, God certainly excuse us, because God sees our heart , not our mind which is highly unstable. For example, the following sins are committed by some people in the day to day life: 1. Politics without principles2. Business without morality3. Charity without sacrifice4. Misuse of atomic energy for preparing bombs, to be used in wars,5. Abuse of sex, that is having multiple partners (that is why the threat of HIV/AIDS all over the world).6. Taking and giving bribes (for unlawful personal gains).7. Purporting violence. We sincerely never should do or encourage, the above sort of sins. Then the Lord loves us very much. How many people sincerely believe the God? The simple rule is: “A sincere believer does not commit any sin or wrong, because he is loyal to God’’. Whatever God gives, he simply accepts. The true believer lives righteously. This is acid test for any believer, not to do unlawful deeds. Jesus bore the judgment that should have befallen us. So whoever believes in Him is now free from all guilt and judgment. Sincerity always pays. Hypocrisy never does pay. Part time devotion is almost equal to atheism (not believing in God). When God is with you, you need not worry for … [Read more...]
